Mini Haul & First Impressions

So I went shopping. I hit up Penney’s (Primark), Superdrug & Boots. I’ve been trying to curtail my spending of late but I had some money left over from my birthday & said I’d treat myself.

I had seen a lot of skincare enthusiasts in America rave about how great CeraVe  is. So when I heard it was released in to Boots I had to check it out. I picked up the Hydrating Cleanser & Facial Moisturizing Lotion. My skin has been prone to redness & irritation of late & I wanted to give these a go. I’ve been using them for over a week which isn’t long enough to give a review but I have to say my skin seems to be liking them so far.

Next up is a Serum from  Superdrug . I have tried a few different products from their own brand like the Vit E Serum & Facial Oil as well as the Naturally Radiant Eye Cream & Hot Cloth Cleanser. They’ve all been great so I decided as I’m getting older I would try the range geared for 40+ & see how I get on. I haven’t tried this serum yet as I have the Vit E one to finish off first.

I picked up the Make Up Revolution Reloaded Iconic Division Palette because it’s a supposed dupe for the ABH Subculture Palette. I’ve played around with it a little bit and it seems good enough for the price. I’ll have a more in depth review of this down the line.

They had 3 for 2 across all brands so I picked up some Makeup. I wanted to compare the L’Oreal Infaillible Luminizing Primer to the Lumi Magique.

I picked up the Revlon Colorstay in Natural cause I really wanted  a peachy brown shade for the spring time and all I really had in my collection was pink. I swatched it in store & couldn’t get it off my hand! Impressive. On the lips it doesn’t last quite as long but it’s a lot more budge proof than a lot of others. It’s creamy but not too much so that it moves around. It glides on, doesn’t grab at the lips at all and is very comfortable on.

I’m not a fan of lipsticks so much. But when I saw Emily Noel on Youtube raving about  the L’Oreal Color Riche Shine &  I decided to pick one up & so far I’m in love. I picked up 112 Only In Paris. Combined with the Revlon Liner it’s the prefect combo.

It’s a real soft peaches & cream look spring look. My reluctance usually with L’Oreal lip products is the overly sweet smell & taste. But these is much tamer. The packaging is really classy. It’s a sheer formula but the colour still comes through. It gives a gorgeous shine to the lips and feels really moisturising. It’s been on my lips since then & I am definitely picking up other colours in the range.

In Penney’s I picked up the only item from the new K-Pop range. Mainly because it’s geared more towards a younger crowd. I chose a cream blusher (Cloud Cream in Sunset) in a peach/coral shade as it was something I was actually on the hunt for. I’m not a fan on the packageing of this as the hole the product comes through is very large which gives you very little control over how much you use. I prefer these kind of products to have a more pinhole like opening.

This is extremely pigmented so you only need a tiny bit. I used a stipple brush to apply it. It’s a pretty summer colour. But it does smell a bit funny & you really have to squish the bottle together to get it to mix otherwise a load of oil just comes out.

Back to Superdrug & I was delighted to see that L’Oreal have brought out a Waterproof version of the Paradise Extatic Mascara (Lash Paradise). I love the colour on the packaging for this.

I also got the False Lash X Fiber Mascara by L’Oreal as well. Why did I fall for this again??? I’ve tried different incarnations of this type of mascara before & this is just as crap as those. The only improvement is that the fibers are black this time around. Does anyone actually see any benefit from these fibers???

I’d been tempted for some time to pick up the Maybelline Brow Precise Mascara. I thought it would miraculously give me Cara style eyebrows. It doesn’t. It was kind of messy. I had to wipe the brush down a lot so as not to get it everywhere. I’ll continue to use it but won’t be expecting miracles.

And finally I picked up some lashes, I swear I will master them this time! I like the look of these, they don’t look massive.

I’m not gonna lie, it was great going on a shopping spree. But I’m back on my low buy again as I need to start saving for my holidays so that I can hit up the French Pharmacie’s  & Sephora 🙂

Have you tried any of these products are they favorites or hate it’s????
