L’Oréal Infaillible Illuminating Primer V’s Lumi Magique

Why oh why do companies change or discontinue a good product? I know I might be the only one who thinks the product is great but still!

Anywho, L’Oreal discontinued the Lumi Maqique (along with a lot of other products like the cushion foundation & bronzer which also makes me sad) and have since brought out Infaillible Luminzing Primer. I loved the original so was really disappointed when they discontinued it just as I ran out of my one!

I decided as I liked the Lumi so much I’d give the Infaillible a go.

I assumed that they would more or less be like for like. They’re not. As you can see from the Swatch on the left the the OG Lumi has a more pink cast to it and the new version is more white/pearl.

The Infaillible smells like burnt plastic whereas the original was a tad sweeter. It applies quite greasy on the skin whereas the Lumi used to just sink in & be more moisturising.

Overall the Infaillible Luminizing Primer seems to be chock full of silicone and feels like it’s just sitting on the skin. It really and truly doesn’t compare to the Lumi Magique In My Opinion.

Have you tried either of these products? Do you like or dislike either? I’d love to know how you feel about them.

  1. Have u found anything that compares to the Lumi Primer?? I’ve been looking and I haven’t. I’ve even tried the new Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Face Primer and I still like the L’Oréal Lumi much better. L’Oréal keeps discontinuing my favorite products…Like the Youth Code tinted moisturizer…still haven’t found anything like that either. Ughhhhhhh!
