This empties post focus’s on Make Up empties. I’ve been trying to do a project pan and feel I’ve been very focused.
Wet N Wild Max Volume Plus Mascara: This was my absolute favourite mascara of last year. But….I have to say it has been usurped! And by a mascara I thought I wasn’t a fan of. well tow mascaras actually. The L’Oreal Lash Princess & The Benefit Roller Lash straight after. I don’t know if maybe this one had dried out a bit cause it had been in my drawer a little while but this just didn’t pack the punch it used to or ma I just used to the punch the Lash Princess (Paradise) packs!
Repurchase? Maybe in the future I might revisit.
Revlon Colorstay Foundation for Normal/Dry skin in Sand Beige: I’ve gone through quite a few of these foundations over the years & the reason is that no matter what other foundations I try I always seem to come back to this one. It gives great coverage, doesn’t cling to any dry patches and lasts pretty much all day. When I don’t have it in my collection I find myself longing for it.
Rimmel Scandal Eyes in Queens of the Bronze age: I only used the bronze side of this, the gold side wasn’t my favorite. But the bronze side was really nice. It was a really nice shade on my lids & it was pigmented and long lasting.
Repurchase? If I could find it again, I haven’t seen it on any Rimmel stand that I’ve come across.
Essence Stay All Day 16Hr Long Lasting Concealer: When I first got this I thought I really liked it but I’d only used it a hand full of times. When I used it consistently every single day I found it a bit more drying than I realised. I guess that really proves that first impressions are not always right. It does cover dark circles and brightens, but I don’t know, it’s just not my favorite.
Gosh Lengthening Mascara in Black: This is just a meh mascara. It didn’t do anything miraculous but neither did it flake or smudge. It was just fine.
The Ordinary High Adherence Primer: This was another Meh Product. It was a thick white cream with a quite silconey feel. It hydrated my skin but I didn’t find that it smoothed much , made my foundation look any better or make it last longer.
Maybelline Color Tattoo in Metallic Pomegranate: I love these Color Tattoo’s. They are so pigmented & a perfect base for shadows or just on their own. This is a great winter color. It doesn’t crease and make my eyeshadows last ages.
Repurchase? Yes Next Winter
Bourjois Lipliner in Chaud: I love these Lipliners, they are so creamy & pigmented & last ages. I actually enjoy wearing this on its own with a bit of gloss over the top.
Seventeen Skin Wow Highlighter (Glow & Prime): I quite enjoyed this. I used it all over my face (except for the T-Zone) underneath my make up. It gave me a lovely glow to my skin. It wasn’t as nice as my L’Oreal Lumi Magique Base (which was inexplicably discontinued !) . My only complaint with this is that it’s a tad greasy and doesn’t really give an moisture to the skin like other products of this kind can.
Repurchase? I have quite a few to go through so maybe when they’re gone.
MAC Fix Plus: I had heard such hype about this product so decided to pick up the travel size to give it a whirl. I have to be honest I don’t get what all the fuss is about. I didn’t find that this did anything any better than my other setting sprays. I know it isn’t made to make your make up last longer so I wasn’t expecting that. Yes, it sets down my powder products nicely but so does my NYX one. Yes, it foils shadows but so does my NYX one. I just don’t get why this is any more special than others I’ve used.
I feel like I’m really pushing through my products and have really got through some of the older products in my collection, which is becoming more manageable.
Have you tried any of the products that I’ve mentioned? Do you agree or disagree with me?
