The Hunt for the Perfect Curling Mascara Continues !

I recently picked up two new mascaras in the hope of finding a mascara that will actually hold a curl on my poker straight lashes.

Both the Maybelline Push Up Angel & the Essence The False Lashes Mascara claim that they can do exactly that so I decided to put them to the test.

First up the Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Angel mascara in waterproof. I was surprised when I withdrew the wand and found it to be so ……weird! See picture below. There is really tiny, sparse skinny, curved plastic wand. I was skeptical at first. But this really grabs every single little hair on my lashes.

So I used my Lash Curler and squeezed my little heart out. I then applied the mascara. It immediately intensified the curl.

Every time I used the facilities I spent most of the time peering at my lashes in wonder. The curl was holding! And it continued to do so all day.

My only complaint is that my lashes looked quite thin. But we’ll get to that.

Next is the Essence The False Lashes Mascara. This has a more traditional applicator. A banana shaped bristle brush.

The formula is a bit gloopy & wet. I even managed to get it on my tightline!

On application it looks very black. It also clumps the lashes together quite a bit. If you like that look than this is great but I’m not it’s biggest fan.

It makes my lashes look longer but doesn’t perform miracles on the curl side of things.

So it delivers on the extreme volume claims but not so much on the curl front.

So. I came up with the genius idea to mix the two together! Et Voila. Thicker lashes that aren’t clumpy & hold a curl! I’m a genius 😀 I put the Essence on first and then comb through with the Maybelline. The prefect combo , hurray 🙂
