Empties no 4 January 2018

January empties 2018

Lee Stafford Coco Loco Dry Shampoo: As far as dry shampoo’s go this wasn’t my favourite. It smelled powdery and left a major white cast. I tended to use it the night before , not brush it out and let it soak up the oils. It wasn’t even the best at doing that.

Repurchase ? No

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer: I have this quite a number of years now and have used it on and off. More so on since I put it in my Project pan to try and finish it off. I use it specifically around my T-Zone and under my eyes. Also anywhere I have smile or laughter lines. It helped smooth these areas out &  also made my makeup last longer. I have tried the “dupe” for this, the Maybelline Baby Skin Primer & I’m sorry, in my opinion, it just doesn’t compare.

Repurchase? Yes

L’Oréal Lumi Magique Primer: This is one of my absolute favourite illuminating primers. My skin has a gorgeous glow to it that comes through even the most heavy duty of foundations without looking shiny or greasy. A really wonderful product.

Repurchase ? Absolutely

L’Oréal Nude Magique Blur Cream: This one kinda looks like the Benefit Porefessional, I wasn’t a fan of that one and I wasn’t a fan of this. I feel like it was blocking my pores and left my skin feeling greasy. Towards the end it was separating on me, a lot of oil coming out if I didn’t shake it well. I’m glad this is finished.

Repurchase ? No

Bioderma Hydrabio Serum: I absolutely love this serum, I’ve went through quite a few bottle in 2017. When I sue it , it feels like my skin is getting an actual drink. It’s the only serum that I’ve used so far that makes my skin feel that way. I have a few others in my collection to get through but have a sneaking suspicion that I will need to pick this up before too long.

Repurchase ? Yes

Bioderma Hydrabio Exfoliating Cream: While I enjoy a physical exfoliator (yes yes I know I shouldn’t but I just don’t feel I get the same kind of exfoliation from acids). But I’ve started to be a bit concious of what I put on my face & more importantly what I am flushing down my sink. I’ve come to realise that the ingredient POLYETHYLENE is in this which means that it has MICROBEADS which are extremely harmful to the enviroment. So as much as I enjoyed this I will not be repurchasing.

Repurchase ? NO

Mizon Calming Sheet Mask : I know it can be great to have an excess of serum in this kind of masks but this one was pouring everywhere. Kept trickling down my neck and was uncomfortable. It did help calm my skin. I’ve come to the realisation that a sheet mask is only going to improve my skin for that day, so it’s perfect for before a night out but isn’t going to have long term results. I need to work on my day to day skincare routine to improve my skin overall.

Repurchase ? No

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Eye Cream: This little deluxe sample lasted for nearly a year. I can’t say that I noticed any miraculous results so I therefore cannot say that this is worth the money.

Repurchase ? No

Botanical Radiance Balm: This is supposedly a dupe for the Clarins Flash Balm. The main difference is how the Clarin’s one sinks into your skin & seems to tighten it slightly. I found this sat on my skin and left me feeling a tad greasy. While this is a fraction of the cost I just don’t think it did enough to make me want to repurchase.

Repurchase ? No

Since I’ve really focused on panning I find I am motoring through the products. Having said that there are some that take such a long time to work through that it has opened my eyes to how much make up I actually need in my collection. I truly know now whether I like a product or not and if it works for me. I’m learning what I actually like using & what I was using cause YouTube told me to 😀
