Charlotte Tilbury Vintage Vamp Eyeshadow Quad.

I was a very lucky girl this christmas as Santy brought me this Charlotte Tilbury Vintage Vamp Palette. I have lusted after CT’s shadows & products in general for quite some time. Everything looks so fancy & luxury & I want it all!!

This eyeshadow quad has two dark colours and two light. Both the dark are matte with shimmer added in (WHY!!??) I have to say , they are very close in colour. It would have been great if one of them was light enough to put in the crease as a transition. I get this is a vampy palette but when there is so little between them I feel it would have been more beneficial.

There are two lighter colours. One is perfect for lid, brow highlight , inner corner highlight etc. But the one on the bottom left is straight up glitter. I was expecting a really intense shimmery shadow but there isn’t even really a base to bind the glitter. It’s the third one across on the swatch below.

If you are looking to do a quick easy look I don’t think these are the shadows for that. I found them kind of hard to blend. So you definitely need to have a bit of time to work with them.

Having said that they pretty much last all day. A bit of creasing but that was at about the 10 hour mark so very acceptable in my opinion.

Would I go for her eyeshadows again? Probably not but I’d always wanted to try them and now I have.

I will buy more from this range, I’m hoping to pick up the beautiful pressed powder and the highlight and bronze duo!

Do you have anything from Charlotte Tilbury? Do you think they’re worth the hype? What would you recommend and what would you stay away from?

  1. I think the products look so luxury and pretty but I’m not sure they’re worth it. I have a foundation and powder which are ok but not really special for the price. I refuse to buy a Mac lipstick though because of the price yet I’m forever adding the CT ones to hyperthetical shopping baskets! I swear it’s the beautiful packaging! x

    1. Ya I bought one MAC lipstick as well and just didn’t get the hype! They’re loads in the drugstore just as good.
I’m not gonna lie, I’m slightly disappointed in this and it’s making me rethink the brand as a whole.
But that packaging!! Arrrrgghh it’s so beautiful!
Is it the airbrush flawless powder you have ? Cause that’s the one I was thinking of getting in and if it’s not great I’m not gonna bother!

      1. Yeah I think so in the gold compact? Absolutely stunning packaging and better than some of my drugstore powders I’d say but just not so much better I’d pay that price again! I’ll try and get a proper review on it up soon as it’s in my current rotation!

  2. I’ve only ever bought a nude lipstick from her called Kate and I really like it. It stays put, has a great feel and is a gorgeous colour. But I have not really been interested in her other stuff. I get what you mean about the eyeshadow. It’s annoying that there is not a matte in there and they look quite similar.

  3. I absolutely love the Charlotte Tilbury products and am gutted for you that your palette wasnt all that you thought it would be. I have a couple of the quad palettes, Uptown Girl and Golden Goddess and both are amazing. You will love the highlight and bronzer duo if you decide to go for it, they are beautiful. xx
