So the idea is that you pick 10 skincare products that you’ll use for 10 days & stick to them. I was intrigued by this challenge as I am a divil for chopping & changing & not giving products a proper chance to see what they can do for me. Some of the products I chose are tried & true & others are new to me. Also I am trying really hard to project pan a lot of my products as I kept buying new products before new ones were even half way through.
Bioderma Hydrabio H20 Miceller Water: I only started into this for this challenge & I have to say I am in love. I have had the pink one and while I liked it I wasn’t totally blown away by it. But this just seems so soft on the skin, gentle yet cleansing. This will be my go to Micellar from now on & I’ve tried quite a few!
No 7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Oil: Cleansing Oil is a no concept to me & I’m so glad I discovered it. It really encourages my to gently massage my face and is so gentle & effective at dislodging even the most stubborn of makeup including waterproof mascara. This isn’t me absolute favourite but I want to try and use it up. It’s that it’s not good I just love the scent of the Una Brennan Superfacialist one that I own.
Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser: This is my second bottle of this. It is soft & gentle on my skin and is perfect for my second cleanse in the evening & one & only cleanse in the morning.
No 7 Soft & Soothed Gentle Toner: I use this mainly in the morning. It is perfect to reset the balance and calm my skin for the products ahead. I also like it if I am just after a face mask which I don’t like to use acids after using for some reason. This is my second bottle of this.
Vichy Idealia Peeling: This is a new one to my collection. It is a gentle acid that is meant for night time use. They don’t claim overnight results but more a change in skin over time. So far I enjoy how it feels on the skin. It doesn’t sting or tighten skin & I love that you can subtly smell the blueberries.
Vichy Aqualia Thermal Serum: This is my third bottle of this. I use it mainly in the morning as I find it a little bit thicker and I usually forgo Moisturiser in the morning as I never have time to let it fully sink in before applying foundation. Time is off the essence people!! I usually make sure my primer is a moisturising one.
Bioderma Hydrabio Serum: This is my second one of these. When the last one ran out I lasted a day before I had to go & buy it! I use it at night & I feel like my skin just had a drink after applying it. I’ve never felt something react to my skin like that! Firm Favourite.
Vichy Capital Soleil SPF 50 BB: I’m all about the factor 50 on my face! I had used up the regular version of this which is a very white thick cream & while I liked it I wanted to try something different this year. At First I had opted for a La Roche Posay one but it pilled on my skin something fierce! So when I say this tinted one I was intrigued. The tint is extremely faint. To call this a BB cream is a stretch in my opinion. But it sits perfectly under my foundation so it’s all good.
LACURA Caviar Illuminating Night cream: I picked this up as a set in Lidl out of curiosity & as I had just ran out of my night cream thought the timing was fortuitous as this only come out a couple of times a year. So far so good. It’s quite a thick cream as you would expect from a night cream. It seems to work well at moisturising as my skin has no dry patches at the moment but we’ll have to wait & see as it’s early days.
So that’s it. I did notice as I was writing this that I appear to be a tad obsessed with French Pharmacie Brands. And that’s not gonna end any time soon as I am heading to France in August & plan to stock up 🙂
I’m glad I did this but I’m also glad that I can ease up on the strictness!! Some days I want to use a different cleanser depending on how much make up I’ve had on or a moisturiser during the day or a different eye cream at night.
